I am not sure about mass production, but yes i dont think it will impact our pocket a lot.

EDLC provides a better performance. The question is whether this is cost effective and capability for mass production.

Another aspect look towards is with carbon EDLC electrode which i guess can yield higher energy than typical supercapacitors with higher power density.

Even though battery is a different from super cap in terms of size and chemistry characteristic, I prefer to add small 8 bit Microcontroller to control charging and discharging Supercap. We might request the stress testing report of this chip regarding on the number of cycle and chip operation when connected to other circuit depending on design under the condition that temperature range is a little bit over the threshold.
