VCOs shoot for wireless applications

SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Micronetics Wireless Inc. has introduced several new voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) aiming to deliver low phase noise in a variety of wireless and other applications.

The MW500-1288 is for broadband, CATV and wireless modems and incorporates the wideband frequency range of 900 to 1,700 MHZ. The MW500-1109 is a wideband, low-noise VCO for satellite communication, frequency synthesis, test equipment and video transmission. The MW500-1089 is a high-output 4-GHz to 6-GHz VCO for subscriber units, PCS, handsets and GSM. The MW500-1122 is a micropower, low-noise VCO for handheld scanners, modems and wireless local-loop applications. And the MW700-1116 is a low-noise VCO for digital data links, fiber-optic data transmission and point-to-point radios.

Samples of the MW500-1288 are under $20. It is priced at $11 each in 1,000-piece quantities and $8 in 10,000-piece quantities.
