12-bit ADC provides high dynamic performance for input frequencies above 500 MHz

Dallas—Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) has introduced a monolithic 12-bit, 550-MSPS (mega samples per second) analog-to-digital converter (ADC), which provides more than 200 MHz of signal bandwidth in applications where high resolution, accuracy and linearity are critical.

According to TI, its pipeline ADC offers the highest spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) available for input frequencies (IF) above 500 MHz. This enables more efficient power amplifier linearization in digital pre-distortion (DPD) solutions, better range and sensitivity in defense imaging and communication systems, and higher accuracy in wide-band test and measurement equipment, the company said.

The ADS54R463 is available in a 14 x 14 mm TQFP package, which is pin compatible to the ADS5463 and ADS5474.
