Santa Clara, Calif.Power Analog Microelectronics (PAM) introduced 3-W Class-D audio amplifiers with integrated 64-step digital volume control.
Featuring its patent pending filter-free, next generation architecture, the PAM8803 delivers 3-W stereo into a 4-ohm load, at less than 10% THD+Noise. According to PAM, its unique architecture has inherently lower EMI than competing products with under 30dBuV/m, the lowest level tested amongst the available Class-D audio amplifiers in its class.
Its efficiency is higher than 90% with an 8-ohm load. Only one input coupling capacitor per channel is needed in the external circuit.
The PAM8803 comes with a built-in 64-step digital volume control, mute/enable function and is packaged in a 24-pin SOP. Applications include PMP, MP3/4, GPS navigator, PC speakers, portable-DVD, LCD-monitors, and notebooks.
