Dallas, Tex. Housed in an 8-pin microSOP package, Dallas Semiconductor's new center-spread-sprectrum all-silicon EconOscillator features up to a 20 dB reduction in radiated emissions (RMS voltage) compared to crystal oscillators, said the company.
Touting the new 3-volt (V) DS1089L as the industry's smallest, this fixed-frequency device comes preprogrammed from the factory with a choice of four center-dithered modulation frequencies of ±1%, ±2%, ±4%, ±8%, and a choice of three dithering rates of fMOSC/2048, fMOSC/4096, and fMOSC/8192. The device operates from 2.7 V to 3.6 V.

Prices start at $0.85 each in quantities of 1,000+ (FOB U.S.).
