Analog porting tool in use at TSMC

TSMC is using Magma Design Automation's Titan Analog Migration software tool to port its analog IP building blocks to new process nodes.

Claiming to shorten analog design porting time from weeks to days, Titan AM is a model-based approach that allows designers to capture design know-how. Mathematical optimisation techniques allow users to optimise their circuits to achieve performance, power and area gains, as opposed to traditional simulation-based techniques.

“The demand for analog design is increasing across a variety of process nodes,” said ST Juang, senior director of the Design Infrastructure Marketing Division at TSMC. “With Titan AM, our designers shortened porting time, explored specification boundaries, and optimised analog circuits for reduced power and smaller area. In addition, Magma's Titan AM provided an efficient and predictable analog reuse methodology.”
