Maxim says the SPI-compatible DS3650 is the industry's first secure supervisor with tamper detection to meet the payment card industry's voltage- and temperature-monitoring requirements. It integrates a battery-backup controller, system power monitor, CPU supervisor, temperature sensor, along with two tamper-detection comparators.

NXP has developed a HDMI 1.3 receiver chip, the TDA19978HL, to improve the quality of audio and video performance of HDTVs by combining 12-bit deep color and extended gamut, as well as high bit rate and direct stream transport audio formats.
