The ASML-5822 and ASML-5829 are specifically designed for low power limiter applications, where they can be used to protect the receiver system from being damaged by large input signals, and allow the receiver system to function normally with the absence of large signal. The Schottky enhanced limiter will have a lower limiting threshold compared to the more conventional self-biased PIN limiter. The PIN diode is placed at the input, to protect the Schottky from high RF power levels. These low power limiter diodes uniquely combine Avago's HSMS-282x Schottky diode, together with the ultra low-resistance HSMP-382x and HSMP-389x PIN diode respectively. They feature low limiting threshold power (OP1dB: 2.85dB at 900MHz for ASML-5822 and OP1dB: 6.05dB at 900MHz for the -5829) and are a semi integration solution which brings design simplicity, PCB savings and cost reduction to the customer's application. They are housed in a miniature 2 x1.2 x0.9mm3 SC70 package.
