Electronics applied to the robotics is playing an important role in the didactical programs of many students of different countries, as it is shown in the Figure 1.

This Robot is programmable in an easy way and can be driven by a dedicated app by means of a smartphone or a tablet. The goal of this project is to teach students the basics of code programming and the interactive management and control of a technological device like a robot by means of some user friendly software and hardware setups. This robot is very useful because the students can learn by utilizing some important concepts like the importance of an efficient power management system to extend the autonomy of the robot, as well as renewable and alternative energy sources like, for example, solar energy, by means of solar cells integrated into the robot.
There are more interactive objects that can be interfaced with the robot and these smart objects can explain to students the basics of mathematics and numbers science, along with introduction to smart cities, and gaming activity. It is a good idea to introduce the students to the concept of electronics applied to enhance the quality of our life and to preserve the environment we all live in.
The ItalRobot has been introduced among the works of the Italmaker Show, held in Rome from 30th May to 5th June 2016 (see Figure 2)

The robotics science is empowered by the possibility to add smart electronics (see Figure 3) to drive the motor of the robot, with effective power efficiency and granting a wide range of functionalities that can be set by the utilizer with the software user friendly interface of the dedicated app, installed on their tablet.

In the part 2 of this blog series I will deal with further applications of electronics technology that enable robotics to realize helping humans to have a more healthy life by helping a doctor during a surgery, as an example. That’s what the i-Robot approach means. Do you like this approach?
