TVs are on my mind, so in a footnote to my last posting, I thought I would just share something that amused me with you.
Panasonic has just launched the new Kuro HDTV, except in an unfortunate case of style over substance the lettering makes it look suspiciously like the Kurd. Then there's the strap line to the ad - 'there's black and then there's black' - sounds rather Spinal Tap'ish to me.
Still, it could be worse. Other branding boo boos that spring to mind include the infamous Toyota MR2, which was relatively swiftly renamed the Roadster in France, and the Mitsubishi Colt Starion, meant to be Stallion. For what its worth, I think the Panasonic Kurd could catch on ...
If you can think of any others, let me know :)
