International Rectifier has introduced the IRS2052M Class D two-channel audio driver IC for high-performance home theater systems and car audio amplifiers. The 200-V analog-input device integrates PWM modulators and protection and, when used with external MOSFETs and components, can form the basis of a complete two-channel audio amplifier.
Key specifications include a sink/source current of 0.6/0.5 A, a VCC range of 10-15 V, and a TON /TOFF propagation delay of 325/350 ns. Key features include:
- Internal clock oscillator
- Clipping detection
- Fault reporting output
- External thermal sensor input
- On-chip thermal shutdown
- Programmable over-current protection
- Programmable dead-time generation
- Start/stop click reduction
The IRS2052M is packaged in a 48-Lead MLPQ. Pricing begins at US $4.99/ea in quantities of 10,000.
