Santa Clara, Calif. Analogix Semiconductor, Inc. claims the industry's first DisplayPort receiver chip with integrated support for a LCD controller/panel timing controller (TCON). The ANX9840 DisplayPort receiver offers support for the next-generation display interconnect standard for monitors, notebooks, and consumer electronics.
The ANX9840 features an integrated direct drive monitor (DDM) and LCD timing controller (TCON) that supports the VESA DisplayPort Specification v1.1a and adopts the standard FPD monitor interconnect to replace VGA, DVI and LVDS in high resolution, high-refresh rate panel applications.
As a compliant DisplayPort receiver, the ANX9840 can support a total data throughput of 10.8 Gbits/s using a single interconnect cable. Data is transported at a rate of 1.62 Gbits/s or 2.7 Gbits/s over 1, 2 or 4 separate two-wire differential pairs with a data rate of up to 2.2 times a single-link DVI or HDMI 1.2 connection (also four data lanes). It is also used to read display Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) and can be used for applications such as video teleconferencing, from receiver (sink) device to transmitter (source) device.
Analogix will provide exclusive demonstrations at Booth 70241, Sands Exposition and Convention Center, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
