HDTV SoCs provide 10-bit video quality processing

Santa Clara, Calif. and Chiba, Japan—Genesis Microchip Inc. has launched Douglas, its third generation HDTV SoC family that provides 10-bit video quality processing, picture-in-picture channel processing, dual HDMI/HDCP 1.3a inputs, improved 3D Y/C TV decoder, and full DVB-T support.

Aimed at flat-panel display applications, the Douglas ICs support full 1080p input. The FLI10620 'Douglas-Advanced' SoC enables 1080p output, and the pin-compatible FLI10610 'Douglas-Plus' enables WSXGA+ output. Douglas features advanced video processing such as Faroudja DCDi Cinema with per-pixel motion-adaptive de-interlacing, sharpness enhancement, noise reduction, Faroudja TrueLife Video Enhancer, and Faroudja RealColor processing for advanced color management and contrast control.

Availability: Samples are available now with volume production expected to commence by the first quarter of 2008.
