MUNICH, Germany Aiming at designers of analog/mixed signal and RF devices, LFoundry GmbH (Landshut, Germany) has introduced a process design kit (PDK). The PDK enables designing chips operating at frequencies of up to 15 GHz, the company promises.
The design kit runs in Cadence's Virtuoso IC6.1 custom design platforms and offers designers access to a modular design and production environment. According to the foundry services provider, the PDK contains a set of SKILL parameterized cell generators and supports advanced interactive and automation techniques such as design rule-driven editing as well as the Virtuoso Space based router for custom chip, block and device-level routing.
In addition, the company offers Cadence QRC for parasitic extraction as well as Cadence Assura for physical verification and manufacturing sign-off. Both measures aim at helping customers to get silicon without costly and time-consuming design respins.
“For the development of this PDK, it was extremely important for us to support the most advanced technologies available on the market in order to help improve our customers productivity,” said LFoundry CEO Michael Lehnert.
