Avago Technologies' MGA-43228 and MGA-43328 are 29dBm High Linear Power Amplifier Modules designed specifically for 2300-2700MHz High Power WLAN/WiMAX/LTE CPE applications. The devices' High Linear Pout performance is achieved through the utilization of Avago's proprietary 0.25µm GaAs Enhancement-mode pHEMT process. Each device is housed in a miniature 5.0 x 5.0 x 0.85 mm3 surface mount 28-lead QFN package and equipped with easily configured input and output pre-match. Optimal output match can be easily achieved through the use of 3pcs of lump SMT components, greatly reducing design efforts and the consumption of overall PCB real estate. Both the MGA-43228 and MGA-43328 share a common package footprint, pin-out, and external matching network, and as such allow a common PCB design to be used at different frequencies. In addition, both devices include an integrated bypass switch controlled attenuator which provides ~23.6dB attenuation, as well as a built in power detector. From a performance perspective, MGA-43228 and MGA-43328 are equipped with High Linear Pout, High Gain and excellent PAE which are critical aspects related to maintaining signal quality/throughput and controlling power consumption within a WLAN/WiMAX/LTE CPE design.
