San Jose, Calif.The MICRF213 is the latest member of Micrel Inc.'s QwikRadio RF receiver IC family that features enhanced sensitivity and selectivity.
The MICRF213 is a general purpose, 3.3V QwikRadio receiver operating in the 315-MHz range. All of Micrel's QwikRadio RF receivers are designed to meet the rigorous cost and design cycle needs of quickly developing RF applications including telemetry, wireless sensing, environmental monitoring, consumer entertainment remotes, remote actuation and lighting control, remote keyless entry (RKE) and tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).
The device's operating frequency band is from 300-MHz to 350-MHz. It offers designers a low current consumption of 3.9-mA @ 315-MHz. The MICRF213 features up to -110-dBm sensitivity and functions as a super-heterodyne receiver for OOK and ASK modulation up to 7.2-kbps @ 315 MHz operating frequency.
The down-conversion mixer also provides image rejection to improve communication distance. All post-detection data filtering is built-in on the MICRF213. There are four filter bandwidths may be selected externally by the user in binary steps, from 1.18-kHz to 9.44-kHz @ 315 MHz operating frequency. The designer need only configure the device with a set of easily determined values, based upon data rate, code modulation format, and desired duty-cycle operation.
