BENGALURU, India Mindtree Ltd., based here, unveiled a Bluetooth automotive software development
kit addressing the dual challenges of interoperability and dynamic specifications in automotive infotainment and personal navigation devices.
The kit uses the EtherMind Bluetooth stack and other profiles for managing connections among multiple devices inside a car. The system relies on a multiprofile, co-existence Bluetooth manager. Applications can access kit services through high-level application programming interfaces.
Mindtree's kit is available for QNX, Windows CE, ITRON, Linux and other real-time operating systems.
“The market potential is huge,” said Vinod Deshmukh, Mindtree's president and co-chief executive of R&D services. “In addition to after-market and high-end models, almost all new cars will incorporate Bluetooth in response to safety and convenience needs.”
One of the few Indian companies participating in Bluetooth standardization, MindTree's Bluetooth IP portfolio includes baseband controller, stack and profile products.
