NEC launches power management chip line in the U.S.

Santa Clara, Calif.—NEC Electronics recently expanded its product offering in the Americas to include highly integrated power management ICs (PMICs).

The offering targets next generation Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) and integrates Internet and cellular network access, multimedia playback, navigation, gaming, social networking and other innovative Web 2.0 applications.

NEC Electronics' PMICs combine power management, logic, audio, user interface, connectivity and communications functions to maximize battery life, support high levels of integration and minimize board space. The products are manufactured using 150-nm process technology.

Applications include cellular phones, navigation systems, digital still cameras and portable media players.
