Palo Alto, Calif.—Designed to improve manufacturability, GigOptix's Mach-Zehnder modulator driver dubbed the GX6155 is targeted at 10-Gbit/s 300-pin transponder applications for long haul and metro communication links.
The GX6155 12.5-Gbit/s Mach-Zehnder modulator driver is housed in a ceramic package to improve manufacturability. Castellations in the package aid manufacturing quality control. It offers full RoHS compliance and compatibility with RoHS soldering profiles.
While being RoHS-6 compliant, it is also backward compatible with non-RoHS (tin-lead, SnPb) soldering. To facilitate fast design cycle, it is footprint compatible to the company's current iT6155 as well as competitor modulator drivers. It provides adjustable output amplitude as well as an adjustable eye crossing point.
Pricing: In low volumes is $202; high volumes is negotiable.
Availability: Sampling in July; full production is expected by the third quarter of 2008.
