Dallas Texas Instruments Inc.'s 13-bit, 250 Msamples/s analog-to-digital converter offers 68 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 75 dB spurious-free dynamic range at high input frequencies for wideband applications.
The ADS5444, which is said to offer best-in-class dynamic performance (see chart below) at high input frequencies (230 MHz), can be used in software-defined radios, basestation receivers, and test and measurement systems.
The ADS5444 includes a high-bandwidth input buffer, a linear track-and-hold stage and an internal reference.
The A/D converter operates from a 5-V supply, while providing low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS)-compatible digital outputs from a 3.3-V supply. The device is specified over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
