Smart label chips support UHF frequency range

Eindhoven, Netherlands—NXP announced the UCODE G2XM and UCODE G2XL, its next-generation smart label ICs that support the entire UHF frequency range.

According to NXP, the UCODE RFID chips operate across very long read ranges and in dense reader environments. The UCODE G2XM and UCODE G2XL provide scalable EPC numbers up to 240 bit, offering flexibility when using RFID in multiple applications requiring different EPC codes and storing additional application data. In addition, the UCODE G2XM provides 512-bit user memory.

The NXP UCODE G2XM and UCODE G2XL are specifically designed for
ease of inlay assembly and high volume/yield assembly lines. The
sensitivity of the ICs allows for broadband antenna designs allowing
inlets to cover the complete UHF band from 840- to 960-MHz. Both the
UCODE G2XM and the UCODE G2XL are EPCglobal Class 1 Generation 2 (C1 G2) 1.2.0 compliant. NXP offers these ICs as wafers, on straps and in
surface-mount devices to its customers.

Pricing: For UCODE G2XL is $0.043 in volume quantities.
Availability: Immediately.
