Space Center Houston slideshow: STEM on steroids

The Manned Space Flight Education Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational foundation with an extensive science education program and a space museum. The cornerstone of its science education mission is Space Center Houston.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Space Center after a visit to NASA Johnson Space Center for a behind-the-scenes view of Orion and the talented team at NASA behind the Deep Space endeavor. NASA is right next door to the Space Center Houston and fully supports their educational mission with loaner exhibits and technical support. NASA allows guests of the Space Center to journey onto NASA grounds via a tram for a visit to NASA’s facility via their NASA Tram Tour or the ultimate Level 9 Tour.

Let’s take a slideshow tour of some of the things I saw when I visited the Space Center on July 7, 2015. There are so many more as well. For more details visit the Space Center Houston website.

Here is a live video from the International Space Station that includes internal views when the crew is on-duty and Earth views at other times. The video is accompanied by audio of conversations between the crew and Mission Control. This video is only available when the space station is in contact with the ground. During “loss of signal” periods, viewers will see a blue screen.
