Tiny video decoder complies with three major signal standards

Tokyo, Japan—OKI Electric Industry Co. Ltd. is sampling a video decoder LSI that complies with three video signal standards—NTSC, PAL and SECAM.

Designated the ML86V7665, the video decoder LSI complies with three pixel frequencies: ITU-R BT.601 standard (13.5MHz), NTSC square pixel (12.272727MHz) and PAL square pixel (14.75MHz).

The ML86V7665's package size is 50% smaller than conventional models. It is housed in a TQFP 48pin 7x7mm, 49mm², approximately half the size of the previous model ML86V7667 (TQFP 64-pin 10x10mm, 100mm²).

The ML86V7665 guarantees an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, enabling use in outdoor security systems and automotive camera systems.

Volume shipments are scheduled to begin in December 2007.
