Universal mobile TV silicon tuner consumes little power

San Jose, Calif.—SiTune Corp. has developed a Hybrid (universal) CMOS TV tuner dubbed the STN-25T1000 that exceeds all of global digital and analog TV standard requirements for under 150mW.

By using a proprietary architecture that incorporates novel RF, mixed signal and digital signal processing techniques, the STN-25T1000 mobile TV tuner is said to have the lowest power consumption, highest sensitivity and small footprint to support a wide variety of mobile TV standards.

The tuner supports both analog (NTSC, PAL, SECAM) and Digital (ATSC, DVB-T, ISDB-T) TV reception.

Pricing: $2.50 in volume.
Availability: Engineering samples and evaluation kits are available in the fourth quarter of 2008; production quantities are scheduled for the first quarter of 2009.
