USB 2.0 analog switches offer high ESD protection

Maxim has introduced two analog switches for multiplexing Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0) signals at 480 Mb/s.
The MAX4983E/MAX4984E double-pole/double-throw (DPDT) switches offer a typical on-resistance of 5 ohm and a bandwidth of 950MHz. Designed with portable applications in mind, they comply with the USB 2.0 specification's VBUS fault protection and offer 15kV ESD protection.
The devices operate from a single, 2.8V to 5.5V supply voltage and are protected to COM1 and COM2. They also feature low-threshold-voltage logic outputs and a shutdown mode that reduces the quiescent supply current to 0.1 microamp.
The MAX4983E/MAX4984E are being supplied in either a 10pin microDFN package or a 10pin UTQFN ” tiny at just 1.4 x 1.8mm.
