San Diego, Calif. Z-Communications, Inc. has released a coaxial resonator-based voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) in the UHF-band. The ZRO0743B2LF, which is the first introduction in this new series of products, operates from 738-748 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0-6 Vdc. This VCO features a typical phase noise of -131 dBc/Hz at 10 KHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 2 MHz/V.
The ZRO0743B2LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 9 dBm at 8 Vdc supply while drawing 23 mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40° to 85°C. The ZRO0743B2LF offers a typical phase noise value of -104 dBc/Hz at 1 KHz offset and -151 dBc/Hz at 100 KHz offset.
The VCO features typical 2nd harmonic suppression of -20 dBc and comes in Z-COMM's newly developed ZMX-14-SM package, measuring 0.75 x 0.75 x 0.22 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements.
The ZRO0743B2LF is well suited for satellite communications and other applications that require excellent phase noise performance. The device is RoHS compliant.
