Sunnyvale, Calif.Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX4885E, a complete 1:2 VGA multiplexer that switches between two VGA ports while maintaining 6pF (typ) on-capacitance and 5ohm (typ) on-resistance for higher-bandwidth applications (up to 1GHz).
The MAX4885E VGA multiplexer switches and translates R, G, B, DDC, and H/V signals. According to Maxim, the MAX4885E delivers 2x more bandwidth than any existing product and provides extended ±15kV (Human Body Model) and ±8kV (Contact Discharge) ESD protection. The device's advanced integration reduces design time, saves board space, and minimizes cost, making it well-suited for notebook PCs, servers, and consumer video applications.
The MAX4885E operates from a single, 2.0V to 5.0V supply, and is fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.
Pricing starts at $1.50 (1000-up, FOB USA).
Availability: Today in an industry-standard, 4mm x 4mm, 24-pin TQFN package.
