Wide-bandwidth, CMOS-input op-amps light on battery consumption

Geneva, — STMicroelectronics introduced two families of rail-to-rail, high gain-bandwidth product (GBP) op-amps that feature speed-to-current consumption ratio. They come in packages designed to address sensor signal conditioning as well as battery-operated and compact, portable applications. The TSV911/2/4 family offers an 8 MHz gain-bandwidth product and is unity-gain stable for capacitive loads up to 200 pF. The other family, the TSV991/2/4, offers a 20 MHz gain-bandwidth product for gain of 3 or above. Operating from 2.5 V to 5.5 V, all the devices consume only 780μA at 2.5 V supply voltage. The op-amps' low power, together with their improved precision and the reduced die size, make them suitable for battery-powered applications.

Other key features include a low-input bias current of 1 pA, and 5 kV or higher internal protection which protects against electrostatic discharge (ESD), minimizing handling and fabrication risks. All of the amplifiers are characterized for the -40°C to 125°C temperature range and are available in SOT23-5, SO8, MSO8, TSSOP14, and SO14 ECOPACK packages.
